i saw Lela Lee, the creator and artist of angry little girls (see comics below). she came to speak at occidental college, about being an Asian American woman and angry, doing something about it, and the journey she has taken to creating a comic, characters, and merchandise. her talk actually made me think about how it is interesting how women do react to anger in different ways. she talked about how it isn't acceptable for women to show anger, so it's interesting to see how women channel that anger in psychological ways. that's why the film 'mean girls' is so funny and to the truth because girls are malicious, manipulative, and play a lot of mind games to channel that anger.
so how do i channel my anger? i don't like conflict and i think that's why i've definetly been challenged this year with women who like to deal with conflict so differently then me: quickly approach the problem when it happens, straight to the point, a little harsh at times, and then move on. i've grown up differently. i usually don't want to stir up any problems so usually let it pass. but then, does the person really get to know how i feel and to understand me? definetly doing a lot of growth and change in this department lately.
